Clutch Died, Which one should I get!

I am in the process of a custom turbo upgrade, and will have my NOS on in the next month, but... oops... snag in the road, I need to get a clutch kit and flywheel. I want something silly fast to engage, and strong enough to handle 400+ hp easily, actually aiming more around 500+hp and near for torque as I am also doing a complete custom engine from the ground up right now also.

Any ideas?

here are my choices I have been thinking about!

1) NO Centerforce (I will not have one!)
2) ACT Stage 3 6-puck clutch kit
3) Eclutchmasters.com 6-puck clutch kit
4) McLeod 6 puck clutch kit (popular with massive done up z32 300zx's
5) Mueller Flywheel and CLutch combo
6) Stillen Alluminum Flywheel (12 lbs)
7) Unorthodox Flywheel (11 lbs)
8) stock Sachs clutch (not wanting this one really, but maybe for the interim!)

Get back to me in the next 48 hours or else I am going to go with the Stillen & ACT setup most likely or Stillen fly & Cluthcmasters

Thanks
Jared

well thanks everyone! Your input was SO valuable!

However if someone actually wants or needs some parts check out my parts car with parts for sale in the Parts for sale forum!

i dont think people can take you seriously talking about putting 500 hp down with a VE, pretty much everything you have is going to need to be replaced not just the clutch

Buddy I am sorry but I don't give a rat's a$$ what people on here think to be quite honest anymore if I am telling the truth or not, because I am, and I already have a parts car with a great VE30DE engine that is getting bored, Stroked, polished, and swapped into mine! I just replaced the MAF, EGR, FPR, O2 sensors, Air conditioning controller, Security system head unit, now CLutch, and Flywheel, not to mention fuel pump with a holley high performance 255 fuel pump, tokico shocks/struts, eibach springs, have sprint springs not even being used and brand new, new eibach camber kit in the front, OBX GX style FSTB, front mount 18x8x3 intercooler, Garrett T300 turbo (being sold to get T60-1 or T61), and many other things that I will not bother to list off except a Blitz Dual SBC boost controller from Japandy on Ebay who is in Japan.

So 500 HP/TQ is not out of the world and not unacheivable! I already have guys that are going to help me who have a 10 second 1/4 mile 300zx twin turbo, a 10 second Twin turbo supra making over 700+HP of the same turbo I am getting, and a 400+ hp/tq 96 Honda Prelude SI
So if my confidence, and honesty is not believeable oh well your loss.

Thanks!
Jared

Stillen and Unorthodox's Flywheels are all the same
i dunno about Muellers but they all seem to be manufactured by ASSCO.
except for Clutchmaster they have one aswell.
and as far as the clutch goes.

Get ACT
I have ACT clutch and ASSCO flywheel and i love them.
But i dunno if your aiming for 500hp you may not want to lighten the flywheel.

Which Act cluthc kit did you go with? I am looking at the 6 puck setup, or Clutchmaster 6 puck with 2500lbs pressure plate, also where did you get the AAsco flywheel?

Here is what I can get these for now...

1) ACT 6 puck clutch kit: $339.00 (Stillen)
2) Eclutchmasters.com 6 puck miba sprung clutch kit: $359.00
3) Stillen 12lbs Flywheel: $465.00 (Stillen)
4) Unorthodox 11lbs flywheel: $509.00 (Nopi)

Thanks for the input Sith!

6-puck will literally tear the tranny to pieces.
so will 4-puck.
I went with modified street disc.

You sure about the 6 puck of 4 puck, because I have called Jim wolf, Stillen, Nopi, and have researched and if anything I am going to go with a JWT metalic one side organic other side if not an ACT 6 puck!

uhhhh, you first ask for our input, then ***** when we don't give it to you immediately, then tell us you don't give a rat's a$$ what we think.. then you ask for our input again like you never insulted us? suuuuuure, that's going to get you places.

If you lick my ***** and apologize, I might let you in on a few secrets you'll need to know about the clutch and tranny.

(and if you think you're not going to have to rebuild the tranny, you're SORELY mistaken and will find out soon after you dump that "500hp engine" in there.)

Matt... WTF ever

I know what I am doing, and I thought I would simply see what people thought, but I am on a timeline which you did not know. Also the diss was not directed in your direction so back off. Boot me off the org if you wish, but if you are not going to do that back off! I have had one hell of a bad week and was ****y worse then a woman going through Menopause! A lot of my stuff has been stolen, my clutch and flywheel are shot, I just bought a shotload of custom turbo equipment for my custom turbo setup, and am strapped for cash.

That gives me no right to rip the other guy a new a$$ but I was stressed and he didn't help the situation.

I know what the hell I am doing and have rebuilt other trannies in the past, this is my first auto tranny from the parts car I got, and I have a 5-speed in mine. Anything with a car is cake to me, sorry to say, but oh well nuff of this.

My apolooges to everyone else that read the earlier post I made, I was simply stressed out and vented, my bad!

Thanks for the input from Sith, and everyone else I am ordering the stuff today, just have to find the place that has things in stock or not on back order forever.

I will keep everyone up to date!

Jared

From what you've said about who doing your work, I'm guessing you're going through Stephen Jessie/RTC? Now come on, if he can put that much power through a stock TTZ tranny, I would think he'd be able to tell you which clutch to put in your car. Do some research before you come on here and blast people..

I already have done research, and all I was asking from the start was which of the options you all would choose if you were me is all! It doesn't matter now as I got the following form Stillen...

1) ACT Stage 3 HDR6 clutch kit
2) Stillen Aluminum (11Lbs) Flywheel

I also will be replacing my timing chain, tensioners, guides, serpentine belts, water pump with all new components I already have, everything was ordered from Courtesy Nissan minus the Waterpump which I got locally.

Thanks for the input everyone!

you need to be replacing the tranny before you put it back together.. just a warning.. you THINK you know what you're doing, and it's going to get you in trouble. But then again, another tranny swap in a few months is cake to you too. don't say I didn't warn you.

FYI, the ACT won't even hold that kind of torque. it's rated at ~465ft-lb.
