HELP!!!!!!!!!! Max Airflow Sensor

Hello,
I just bought a '91 Maxima (WHAT A CAR!), the only prob seems to bee when I'm driving, it starts to jerk. If I floor it, there's a pop of unburned fuel & then it takes off. Mechanic looked at it & pronounced MAx Airflow sensor. Could this be accurate? How can I check it out myself? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks
WZ

Re: HELP!!!!!!!!!! Max Airflow Sensor

Unplug the Mass Air Flow Sensor and clean the plug, then make sure it is pluged in correctly. Most of the time the sensor plug is dirty or not pluged in right. If that does not work then just go and take one out of the junk yard not verry hard to remove.

Great, now if I just knew what it looked like, or where it was, I'd be ok. Can anybody help?

WyteZomby, go to www.automanualtrader.com and buy a shop manual for your car. It is soooo helpful! Has info on just about everything. Only costs about 13 bucks with shipping. BTW, White Zombie ruled! I think I'm going to take a picture of my engine and label the parts that people ask about alot, so that we can send them there for a reference. If I get it done in the next day or so, I'll post it. Good luck with the MAF.

or just check my page for scanned pics of VG and VE with all ECCS components labeled

in the how-to section at the very bottom

or check out Uncle Pete's site at www.bignissans.org.uk in the J30 section and then the articles section has another pic with descriptions of ECCS parts

Awesome! I'm glad you posted that before I went and downloaded Photoshop! That'd take quite awhile on my dial-up connection. On Wednesday, we're getting two-way satallite! I can't wait! Zomby, when you get the MAF figured out, post your results. I'm planning on doing a major overhaul on my car, and I need to know what's really worth doing. Good luck!
