flava you're a smart guy and been around this board long enough, im surprised you fell for something like this when you could've had a clean low mileaged de-k for couple hundred more.
this had stay away written all over it. first, nobody sells a rebuilt motor for 300, second, ge said "no clue" when you asked him about rebuilt internals........
mods need to ban seller

As far as it being too cheap to be good, Ive bought a motor before for 300, 460 shipped that only had 35k on it.

At the time, i couldnt find any motors for a decent price. This popped up right as I needed one and wasnt too far from me. Yes, there were some red flags but I let my impatience get the better of me.

overall, you made it out ok in all honesty. I picked up a "5spd swap" kit from this org a while back for upward of $1400 shipped. seller claimed M/T ECU, good clutch and good trans. i ended up putting it in the car two years down the line, not only it was not a full kit, the ECU ended up being an auto, the spec clutch went out in 5,000 miles and the trans had a bad head bearing to begin with. and IRRC his .org name was "b00b"

I'm surprised you even settle for a DE over a DEK. I'm sure there are salvageyards around your area with DEK's for sub $700. That wasn't that much more considering the $300 you paid along with another $100 for gas and time off. Engines are always listed on ebay and shipped right to your door. I've seen DEK's go for as low as $500 shipped. what happened to your motor tho? thought you had a fresh swap......

Had considered the DEK a while back, but dont feel like dealing with obtaining different coils, and inj. and etc. when the DE does just fine for me.
