raybesto rotors, anyone know if they are any good?
raybesto rotors, anyone know if they are any good?
ok, a friend of mine works at an auto parts store and told me he could get me raybestos rotors for the front for $50 each. i know raybesto has brake pads but never knew they made rotors. does anyone know anything about these? any good? i`m going to use them with nissan brake pads.
Re: raybesto rotors, anyone know if they are any good?
For that much, I'd just as soon get Brembo's and save around $10. I think Brembo only makes fronts for our cars though so rears can be any aftermarket make. Front's are more important by far for 4th gens though.

Anyone else who has answers, please feel free to give me some advice.
Also, what things could I tell a non-Nissan shop doing an installation of pads or rotors and pads for me? My Raybestos brakes have squeaked and rumbled a whole lot ever since I got them and went back to the shop twice within the 6 month/6K mile period. The squeaking has not been so bad since the weather has been cooler. Also, in the past they would start squeaking only after driving for five minutes or so. It's been only 11 months and about 20K miles since install at most. They turned the front rotors again and dude told me they had "hot spots" that would go away. Nissan says non-Nissan people often forget the harware kit or throw it away because they can't fit it with non-Nissan brakes and that could have been why they squeaked. Je ne sais pas. Help?
i had tried some Nippon pads that i got from thepartsbin.com....very good "woooo" (better than stock) but a lot of squeeking/squeeling....a fair trade in my opinion.
brembo and raybestos are both big name brake companies...you shouldn't have any problems with their stuff. I have had good luck with wagner parts on other non-performance cars/trucks....but i would bet their pads are not as potent stoppers as others out their.
I am not a fan of turning rotors these days....most rotors are so thin from the factory that they warp prematurely (read: OEM GM brakes are crap)....the Maxima is probably an exception to that trend though...this car has some heavy rotors. Sounds like your car might see some occasional serious braking, so turning wouldn't be my recommendation to you. besides, turning will set you back $15 each, and for another $30 you can get a new quality rotor. if a turned rotor goes to crap, and you buy new rotors should shold put on new pads...again.
