It's more a support to hold the foam onto.

Well, HKS calls it a velocity stack. Either way they are just marketing ploys that have absolutely no proof of working on a small NA V6.

K&N claims that their filter straightens the flow of air as well. As usual who do we belive . I am happy with my K&N.
