New Guy and I need some help.
What's up gals/guys. Nice place you got here!
I need some help. I got a '99 maxima 'se' edition auto and need some help on installing new break pads(stock). Are there any tips you guys can give me on the installation? Ne links or nething would be helpful. Also, I'm wondering if you guys know where I can get some nice deals on stock parts. My dealership sucks and overcharges.
Thanks.

check out http://www.vqpower.com
They have a walkthrough on changing your rotors, so you can follow them to change just the pads.

I just replaced my brake pads with Porterfield R4-S street pads and they are really awesome...much better than the OEM pads. They were ~$130 direct from Porterfield with a maximaforum.com discount. They're definetly worth checking out. Its a pretty easy job if you have all the tools. Get a Chiltons or Haynes manual to help you out.

thanks for all the help guys.
but it turns out that there are plenty of break pad left on the car. My mom told me that the car seemed to be not breaking properly and the brakes were so squicky. I took of the wheel and took a look at it and it has plenty more to go.
BTW, is it normal for oem pads to squick so much? I drive the car once in a while(not my car) so iduno if it does it all the time, but my parents tell me so. Thanks

No, they usually don't squeak. Your rotors might be glazed over and they need to be machined. Also, check to see if your shims are on good, this can sometimes caues the squealing noise.
