removing air intake

I have a stillen intake and I still have the stock ram air scoop from the factory air intake under the hood....I can take it out right?? I was just wondering about one thing, there is a tube running off of the air scoop that goes below the battery..is that important for anything?

Yes you can put it back, just make sure you plug in the temp. sensor again. Are you talking about the scoop and leads air into the airbox? If so then yes that should be there.

vyrus, i dont have the airbox in there anymore, i am not putting it back in...anyways i just took out the air scoop, but do i have to take the battery out to remove the resonater below the battery? maybe its just me, but is more air going to be able to get to my intake now, since the old air scoop isnt blocking anything??

Re: removing air intake

I left mine on. I read some where that if you left it on you could bring in more cooler air from the air scoop.

Re: Re: removing air intake

i thought the same thing, but with the stillen intake, there is a big metal plate holding the filter up, so it seems like any cool air that would have been coming in from the scoop was being deflected away by the plate. I'll see how it goes, maybe I'll put it back on if anything feels different while driving.
