Midpipe installation

I'm getting ready to install my mid pipe today and I have a few questions. I purchased a breather filter to place on my crankcase. So that hose will be gone. The only other hose is the one leading towards the back (closest to the windshield) I think is un bendable. So I bought myself a 3/4 hose from Pepboys. Is this the correct size? I heard something about a 3rd hose, can someone enlighted me? I tried looking it up but found nothing that answered my question. Any other tips are welcomed especially on taking off the resonator and correctly tightening the hoses. Thx.

There are 3 hoses, 5/8" dia. at the front, 1/8" and 3/4" dia. at the back. I got a breather for the valve cover, but the car idles kind of funny. Idle doesn't settle back down as quickly. I am planning to hook back the 5/8" hose from the valve cover to the mid-pipe to see if it fix the idle problem.

if you are making your own midpipe... MAKE sure you have the correct size drill bits for the hose fittings. it took me forever last night to dremmel them out so the fittings would thread. and don't put a breather on the back hose... i'm fairly certain it needs the vaccum from your intake to work properly. or it could be the EGR fitting... anyway, i believe you need to have that one hooked up. other than that its pretty straight forward.

That is correct about the drill bit. I also used JB weld around the fittings so I knew it was air tight.

The 3/4 hose is right. I got mine from pepboys as well. There is also the really small one next to the 3/4 hose. That has to be connected also.

I used a step drill to get it to the right size and tap the hole with the proper NPT taps. Only way to go. Super strong and with a bit of Locktite, air tight. Also ground down the fittings on the inside of the pipe so as not to leave any protrusions to disrupt air flow.

Thats is what I lacke on mine. The fittings stick about a 1/4 inch into the pipe (not much at all). I tried to find the least protruding ones. I doubt it makes a big difference, but I wish I had it flush.
I drilled the holes to as close as I could to the fitting size. Then lightly hammerd them in. Mine are not threaded on. They were in there tight but not air tight, so I used the JB weld and painted the whole thing black. There is a pic in my profile of my mid-pipe.

My way was not the most professional but in the end it works and looks great.
