Possible to roll back a odometer cluster?

Is it possible to roll back an odometer cluster? I want to buy the se white gauge cluster, but I want my 42k miles on it. Is it possible to change it?

yes, when u take out the cluster, you can easily do it. When i got my indiglo gauges installed, my friend asked me if he wanted me to do it but i felt bad putting less miles than i had so i didn't, especially since when your vin number is checked (in case of resaling), they will look at history of miles and u may get in a little trouble selling, u may just want to tell whoever that you put new engine in......

Yes, the cluster can be disassembled and changed. If you do it, it's illegal. If you take it to a dealer or a speedo shop, you get a certificate that it has been changed and they charge you for it.

i think most people that swap their clusters buy one with slightly higher miles on it and swap it out when the numbers are very close.

i just changed out a tach...bought a GXE cluster and put the tach into my SE cluster....i'll say this...the gauges aren't meant to take apart. Only way I could figure out to take it apart was to pry up on the pointer to pull it out of the gauge...it went back together and works....but not sure i would recommend it. This should technically be "legal" though as you are not tapering with the ODO.

NOTE: The SE white face doesn't have the screws pass through it like the black GXE/GLE gauges, so you also need to transplant the plastic bracket behind the face too!

after all this...sure sounds better to just buy a face kit off Ebay...

good luck
John

How much do they charge you for it?

Also, sprint, i dont think the kit you buy looks the same. I want exact stock replica. Is it possible?
