well, i woulda kept stock rims, and put on some all season tires as my main remember, not have worry about having 2 pairs of tires...something like Sumitomo HTR+'s, for all season.....i say go with winter tires, and then keep the kuhmo's for the spring/summer....or if you can find a good deal on cheap all season, decent tires....go for that

If you get any snow, get snow tires. They make as huge a difference in winter as performance tires do on dry/wet...

DO NOT USE SUMMER TIRES IN THE SNOW. I say this from experience, I've been caught in the 1st snow of the year on summer tires twice, once on Kumhos. I almost died. Literally. I was scared for my life. Get snow tires.

Put the stockies back on. Last year, I put the summer rims on too soon, and we had a lil snow fall. I tried to go to the store. I only made it 1/2 mile down the road and turned around b/c the car was all over the road. It was just too dangerous to keep going.

Depends on the type of snow...in the dry powder we get in the Denver area just about anything will grip! lol

I just got all season performance tires.

They suck really bad in the snow, I had to drive about 10mph everywhere I went last winter when it snowed here...
