Need help with lug nut...

I was changing my oil and when I was putting my rim back on I asked my friend to put the lug nuts on the car so I could tighten them. Well she has to be dumb and she didn't screw the lug nuts on she just pushed them on so they stuck there. Anyway I have an air compressor tool and i started to screw the bolt on. Well the lug nut stripped and the bolt stripped a little also. I'm going to try and get a new lug nut tomorrow and hope it screws on. Has anyone had this happen? I don't want to spend gobbs of money to get this fixed but I might just have to, which will suck. If you can help thanks.

It happened to me when I decided to tighten all my lug nuts on the ground as opposed to in the air and then torque on the ground. I had to replace the bolt. Just get another nut and bolt and put it on. You have to hammer the old bolt out.

Is this difficult? How do you do it? Where should I go to find a bolt? If you can help me I'd appreciate it I need to have this done by today if possible.
