5spd ticking noise when cold for first mile or so

When it gets to winter time and my trnny gets really cold in the morning I get a strange clicking sound for the first mile or so.

The sounds increases in speed with engine revs, and goes silent if I push the clutch in. It did this last winter.

My tranny fluid level is good.

Anyone seen this before? I did a search and didnt find anything for transmission noise or 5spd noise.

Sounds like your describing the noise cold, poorly lubricated gears make when under load. Before moving the car, put the transmission in neutral and take your foot off the clutch. This is what I do as soon as the car is running, then I start searching for a good radio station before driving off. That helps some.

If it did it all the time, then I would say the tranny bearings. Keep an eye on that.
