Hello all, I was coming out of a parking lot today and the exit goes up a hill. I needed to come out fast onto the street, so I give it a good ammount of gas and start turning right. The inside (passenger side) wheel gets a BAD case of wheel hop, so I let off a little bit. While its hopping I hear an AWEFUL noise like something popped loose and is rattling. I'm not sure if its in the dashboard or suspension.
I think its in the dash board, and must be something loose, and this bad wheel hop knocked something half off, and is clunking. You hear it when you jerk the car by stepping on the gas quickly, or by hitting heavy bumps. Does anybody know what I should do? If it is in the dash, its above the passenger foot area.
Thanks in advance everyone!

i would guess it's your cv axle, only $60 for another, I would still get it checked out, You could take teh wheel off and turn the wheel s to each direction, if you hear no weird noises it prob not the cv joint.Originally posted by cscm094

brodaiga's probably on the right track. Take off the wheel and look to see if the CD boot is leaving an oily substance, or making clicking noises.

My vote goes to a busted motor mount or lower control arm bushing.

You need to remove your wheel and inspect your CV and suspension then you can pin point the problem and fix it.Originally posted by njmaxseltd

I haven't done any mods to the suspension, and i will be removing the wheel today (to replace with a set of rims) and will look for things. What exactly should I be looking for? I'll look for cracked bushing or something loose, but I'm not totally sure of what to look for. Thanks guys

Check the heatshield on the Catalytic converter too. The supports tend to rust through.
If your CV boot is cracked, you'll see greenish grey grease all over.
Good luck.
