MEVI install help.

I have the manifold installed and everything is hooked up. My problem is that whenever I start the car the actuator arm is pulled open and remains open the whole time. I had my rpm switch set at 2500 rpm's to test it. The light comes on at 2500 rpms so I know it is working properly. I just can't get the actuator arm to open and close like it should. Is there a reason it is open all the time? I will greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.

*Update*

I disconnected the solenoid from the rpm switch and gave it power from the battery. For the first time I actually heard it click and start working. I just can't get it to turn on with the rpm switch. What could it be?

If it stayed open at start up maybe you have the vacuum switch installed wrong. One of the tubes goes to vacuum, one gets switched to vacuum while the other one gets switched from vacuum. Maybe you have the vacuum tubes hooked up wrong? Try hooking it up the original way - does the valve close at 2500? If it does then what I'm saying is probably the case. If it does nothing, then check your wiring. Good luck and post more questions. I hope to install mine soon.

Harlan switch ???

Ok guy i need help on the Harlan switch, where do you get your tach wire from and what color?is it green/red on #2 coil on the cylinder or you can use other wire as well.If i want the Harlan switch to activate the solenoid at 5200rpm,all i do is set the dip 3/5/6 to ON position right,do i still have to program the pushbutton #1 ? How do you program the switch to (coil per plug setting)? Thank Giving!

The tach wire I used was from one of the spark plugs. Red is power, black is ground and the other one is the tach. Just splice into it. The Harlan comes with instructions, but to program it to coil per plug I'm pretty sure you put switch #5 on and the rest off on the dip. Hold down button number 2 for a few seconds until it flashes and it is set.
