changing MT fluid

How many times have you changed your manual transmission gear oil?
How much time does it usually take?
What kind of gear oil do you use?

20 hours?! That seems a little excessive to me, especially if you use something like AMSOIL Series 2000, and if you run a cheap MTF for a couple minutes. I always run a synthetic MTF for about 20 minutes of brisk driving, making sure to do figure eights because of the VLSD, then change out the 20 minute old MTF with the Series 2000.

well what i do is just let it drain overnight. It's probably not necessary but I do it anyways for my own satisfaction.

lol u wish!! Keep changing it every 30-40k miles. Think about it this way... a transmission has more moving parts than an engine. You change engine oil regularily right? It's best u keep doin the same w/ the tranny! (except in longer periods of course).
