Putting my deposit down for the car...

Soon to be owner of a '96 Maxima SE 5Spd.

Going to put the deposit down today and will be driving hopefully by Tuesday.

Anything else to check other than what's on the FAQ?

Not sure yet. First Nissan, first Maxima.

Gotta do some normal maintenance on the interior/exterior first. First mods would be some new wheels and then probably a new exhaust system.

We'll see. Just put the deposit down, will have it on my driveway by Tuesday.

LEt me give you some inside of how you get discount on your new car.
First off you wan to see if this guy car has passive alarm system. if it does. you disconnect the wires that goes to the alarm speaker when you looking at the car engine. then like tommarow night at 3 am go to the guy house with couple of your firends. like 3 people. have one watch the road and preimeter. and then u and your other firend put the car on the jack( i would recommend you get jack from kmart or pepboys or something like that) i am pretty much sure that car has no wheel locks. then take the wheels of the car. and place the car on some stone. make sure you use gloves. you dont want to give your idintification away. then when you go pick up the car. you could absulutly get discount about 2 to 3k from this guy. and then when you take the car home with a towe truck you put the rims back on it and here you go. you haver your maxima.

Note: I Have no responsiblity when you get cought by the police. because I am a police officer.
good luck......

Congrats! I have a 95 5 speed. Ive had no trouble so nothing to tell you to watch out for. I did notice a HUGE imporvement in shifting when replaced the old tranny fluid for Redline. Shifting is greatly improved. Takes 4.5 quarts.

I'm guessing it's one of the two Red Line transmission oils...

-----
MTLŽ Manual Transmission Lubricant
a 70W80 GL-4 gear oil (SAE 5W30/10W30 engine oil viscosity) designed for use in manual transmissions and transaxles. Provides excellent protection of gears and synchronizers and its balanced slipperiness provides a perfect coefficient of friction, allowing easier shifting.

MT-90 Manual Transmission Lubricant
a 75W90 GL-4 gear oil designed for use in manual transmissions and transaxles. Provides excellent protection of gears and synchronizers and its balanced slipperiness provides a perfect coefficient of friction, allowing easier shifting.

5 Spead does not take regular transmision oil as automatic Tranny. if you put in the wrong oil you could screw up big time.
