Raced shaved Bimmer
well i got my '98 5-speed w/y-pipe and the guy told me he had 323 5-speed w/intake for some reason the race was even (1st and 2nd gears). i did hit the rev. limiter, but still it's a 323

ok, the story is a bit weird. Did you beat him?! You said you hit your rev limiter (not smart!!) and it was even through 1-2, what about 2-3, 3-4?! what did you race up to?! what year is the bimmer, etc etc, your leaving out the vitals man....

it was a new 323, and the race was till the red light so the only gears i used were 1 and 2 both hit the limiter (this is my first 5-speed car). the race was even. i am still wondering if i have bad coils or injectors...i got 54k and the car is in perfect condition although it idles around 500 rmps.

the maxima pulls hardest at 5500 rpm, then you should have upshifted

I think he was lying to you. It is to his advantage to lie. If you lost, you would feel bad losing to a 323, and if you won, big wow, you beat a 323. I think it was a 328.
Did he have rims on it. The 323 comes with some nasty silver "donut" rims. HIDs?
The ypipe does add a lot of power...only if you free up the intake of the car also. If my first mod was an exhaust, what gain will I get out of it?...other than wasting 500 dollars. But, if you get an intake and ypipe, the exhaust will help a little. Your ypipe did gain hp, but not as much as it could complimented with an intake

i didn't look at the car, i was too affraid of cops....i doubt that he was lieing about the car though (i lied about no having y-pipe

and he suggested that i get the intake too, but i don't wanna do that cause i read articles about after-market intakes and that they don't clean air as much as stock.
