Has anyone done a successful front seat swap with seats from another model/make? I have an SE with the power driver seat option, but it just doesn't have enough bolstering. I don't want to go all out sport/racing like a Sparco. And I'd like to keep it fairly cheap by being able to find it in a salvage yard. I'm thinking something like a simple Honda Prelude seat(s). I'd also like to do a swap that involved the least amount of fabrication/alteration.

Any suggestions/stories?

Personally, I haven't done this. However, I know that the maxima is quite large and have read that many front bucket style seats will fit. All that would be required is remounting the brackets on the new seat so that they are equally positioned to line up with the brackets on the car floor. Biggest thing to worry about is how secure the install is. Shouldn't be a problem with re-using stock hardware by removing the new seats mounts, placing the mounts on the maxima seat onto the new seat, and mounting it to the car. Probably wanna talk to people who have actually done it though.
