Installing the FSTB is the simplest mod there is.

how would you break a socket??????

you don't need a site...here it is:

take off the strut bolts...put on the fstb...put on the bolts torque to 30-40lbs

if you can't do this...good luck with your other mods

The bolts will not loosen and applying all my strength could possibly break the socket. No need to be a smart ***...I could not find the torque spec quickly, thus I asked. Thanks everyone.

Put clears on and they look great!

I'm pretty sure you don't want any more than 32 lb/ft of torque. I don't remember what Haynes recommends, but I don't think it was anywhere near 40.

screw torque specs... everyone keeps trying to torgue every single freakin bolt in the car. I will be honest,, torque specs are nice and all but when a flat rate tech is working on your car he dosent care about that .. all he want is to get the job done and fast as possible and most of the time unless its like internal engine work he dosent care. Most tech go by these torque specks

nail clippers
electric tape
phillips screwdriver

1. take the screw out for the corner light
( its located above the corner light, under the hood )
2. firmly pull the assembly from the car
( don't pull too hard, but you will hear it pop out )
3. remove the light(s) from the assembly & remove the bulb
( just turn the light in the opposite direction of the arrows )
4. take the pair of nail clippers and clip off the lower metal nub
5. wrap the bulb from bottom to just below the second nub
( don't wrap the other nub, or this light will not illuminate )
6. insert the bulb into the harness w/ the nub secured tightly
7. check the connection before putting the assembly back on
8. put the assembly back on to the car w/ the screws tightened
9. make sure the lights are secured in the correct manner
10. now you can see! it's a great improvement over stock
11. let me know if you have any problems!!!

props to z30maxima

I'd prefer to torque to spec and avoid having to replace my struts, thank you.

And Haynes does say 29-40, but I believe most people torque to about 31-32.

how am i being a smart ***?

if what you're saying is true, then you cannot EVER remove the nuts on your strut tower because they will break if apply too much force?

well then you just answered your own questions - it cannot be done.

set your torque wrench to like 20 lbs, and remove the nuts, not bolts. When you put all your strength into it, you wind up moving it unevenly, applying force/pressure on the nut that will wind up stripping the thread. If you use your torque wrench, the wrench does most of the work for you. I know it sounds crazy, but i had the same problem, and it worked for me.
