blew away 6 hon-duh civics

there i was heading back from Quickly's after getting a few cups of bulba, as stopped at the stop light on Geary and 30th ave. i noticed a whole bunch of people gathered up around the bus stop, next thing i see 6 suped up Hon-duh civics line up around me, everybody starts to cheer, it's obvious that this is a race, the light hits green and i wait as a few of them rocket off and go ahead of me, after i let them get a nice head start (handicap ), i floor it, a few quick shifts and i blow past them as their tiny little engines screem to catch up, by 33rd ave. i'm cruising, i pop a right on 34th and go home, with a big fat grin on my face , considering that i have a bone stock 95 SE (except for a FSTB and a RSB), civics are truely pitiful cars....no offence though, a good friend of mine owns one, cute car

90% of the "souped up" civics are slow. It is the other 10% that you have to watch out for. Good kills.

i really dont know about the GSR, we have a 600 lbs weight difference, althought we can pump out more HP and alot more torque than the GSR and at lower rpm's too, and since we have a V6 we have almost all of that power almost on-tap, and you know how the 1st gear on the SE 5spd are like, it could either be a close match or we would smoke them, i doubt the max would lose (unless ofcourse the car is an auto or the driver doesn't know how to shift properly, realistically anything could happen, and the max COULD lose), but in any case, i'm going to be on the lookout for any GSR's out there to see what happens, i also want to take a shot at the RSX type S.

I don't know why but I found that really funny, the "everybody started cheering" part.

SI's aren't a problem unless they are driven very very well, even then all it takes is a decent 5spd driver to win. Typical 99-00 SI traps 88mph, GSR traps 90mph, 4th gen 5spd traps 92mph. New SI's are slower, they trap 86-87ish.

A maxima could pull on even a slighly modded GS-R easy. They have very low tq and the horsepower only comes when the vtech pops . The top speed also sucks on them, after like 100 they are very slow. But when boost or NOS is applied then you gotta watch out.

I beat a GSR from a 60-120 race by about a car length...Intake/Y and auto...i suppose 5spds would have 2 cars+ on them.

I used to beat my friends RSX-S also until he put a header on it, off the line with a good launch I could take him now, but on the intersate he pulls by a car and a half, and I have a VI. I guess the loss in bottom end made a difference. He has the bragging rights for now but I'm about to get a y-pipe and an ecu.

Thats pretty funny. You got a whole bunch of people thinking that civics are cool and then you blow by them. They're probably used to it by now though.

Are you talking about geary street in San Francisco? DON'T MASH OR RACE YOUR CAR THERE. There are hella cops there!!!!!!!!!!!! But, good showing them where they belong

P.S. I know I am contradicting myself about no street racing...I know its just so fun and exciting. Especially when you make riced out civics know where they belong, I love doing that.

a GSR is a good race for a good driven auto max, a 5speed should take it, but on the highway it will walk away from an auto and hang close with a 5speed. the rsx-s will kill an auto, and most likely take a 5speed max if driven well, but a close race, indeed. on the high way the rsx-s walkes away from both.

(assuming all cars a stock)

I used to walk on the RSX I was talking about in top end, but like I said not since he got his header and I got the VI.

yeah, i race on geary everyonce in a while at night when there are no cops around, the trick is to end the race quick and change to one of the side streets..

ps. i raced again tonight, first raced a mustang GT, start from 35mph i beat him by a cars length, then we hit the stop light, the second standing start he was pulling pretty fast, i let him go after a cars length, 2 stop lights later (the mustang was gone) i was side by side with an MR2 (i noticed he had intake and a muffler the size of my leg), the light hit green and i promptly had my *** handed to me, he was 2 cars ahead by the next light.

after that i headed home and made some tea..

yea.. i live in a area with a very high concentration of "souped up" hondas and they try to race me when stoppin at a light and i kill them most of time, sometimes they can hang with me, and rarely, like this one prelude (the newer ones w/ the square headlights), they will kill me..
