How much hp am I losing?
I just got an ECU diagnostic on my new 96 5speed because the CE light was on. Just as I thought, the knock senser is bad. How much power am I actually losing? Would it make huge difference in 1/4 times cause I'm planning on going to Etown this friday.
How much is a new knock sensor?

The KS code may be because your engine has knock and ping. Make sure it's running correctly before you simply replace that sensor. The KS code comes as a result of a signal from that sensor that is out of acceptable range.

btw, if the KS is bad, it will slow you down considerably at the track.

knock sensor
I just had my knock sensor ( i have a 98 max) replaced along with an 02 sensor due to CE light . I went to the dealer, it cost me 600$ Canadian, so about 450$ USD..it's about 3 hours of work to change both, from what i'm told the knock sensor is a B * * * * to replace!, that's why i went to the dealer. Hope this helps...

The KS code always comes on along with any o2 codes.
The KS codes will alway go away when the o2 is replaced.
TheMax95 - You could have an o2 thats weak, your new intake breathes better and that could also be causing your lean condition. How many miles are on the car? When was the last tune up, plugs, throttle body cleaning ect performed? You can also try a bottle of Techron fuel injection system cleaner. You may have some injectors that are slightly clogged.
Clear the KS error code, perform a bit of maintenance and see if it comes back. Pull the spark plugs and see if you find one thats too white. If so, you found your lean cylinder.
Are you sure you didn't disconnect a vacuume hose? A vacuume leak could cause that condition as well.

But thats the problem. I don't know why it's lean. Could it have something to do with the air induction system. I have Frankencar.
