I could careless of your opinion of rice. If you don't have anything constructive to say don't say it at all.

It's more for aesthetic purposes than anything else. Sound won't differ at all.

I know i havent been on the org for that long but i never seen any posts of anyone having carbon fiber exhausts. It may be hard to find pics of a max with a CF muffler. I personaly like the way carbon fiber looks but i think there are some places where it just doest mesh, like an exhaust. Im not sayin this to bust ya chops though. Ive seen a CF exhaust on an integra and it looks bad, doesnt even look like CF, more like checker painted black and silver.
P.S the tips on CF exhausts look horible, it looks like some one kicked half of it in.

I cant believe you dumbasses are calling CF mufflers rice.....let people have their own way, with their own cars, without you degrading them. I personally think that muffler in the pic looks good except for the notches in the titanium tip. There are some really good Carbon Fibre Mufflers out there, but are costly because real carbon fibre is used. There is also a noticable difference in sound, some like it more some call it RICE. Stupid rice terminology. From now on if something looks like a peice of $hit call it just that. Oh and id be interested in seeing some good carbon fibre mufflers on maximas too. Anyone got pics?

Im kinda curious, im assuming the point of a carbon fiber muffler is to save some weight, but is the muffler actually 100% carbon fiber minus the tip and the spot you weld it to the b-pipe? Im thinking it it was, the whole thing would melt from the heat of the exhaust gasses

No, the point of a carbon fiber muffler is how it looks, pure and simple.

There are rims that are covered in carbon fiber. I don't have a link for them, and don't really care to find one.

My question is: why would you pay more money for something that does nothing but make the car look stupid? To each his own I guess.

All depends on your definitions of rice.

So how much downforce does a Stillen bodykit produce?
How much weight do you save with clear corners? Red/Clears?
How much drag does the OEM spoiler create again?

All of those items are for show. Style differs from person to person.. if Rav likes a CF muffler, you have all right to call it rice. Doesn't mean you have to post it in his thread (I'm pretty sure he knew what most .Orgers would think anyways).

As as for the person who made the crack about the tip, it's because that muffler is titanium. The JIC magic (which that might be) is the lightest muffler money can buy and it also comes with that tip.

Ravq it would be great if you can get a Tanabe exhaust, but in CF so that you know its quality. My .02cents

For those that are hating, do you even know what "rice" means? Since the Mclaren F1 is made of full Carbon Fiber, im guessing that is one big ball of rice?

Thank you. CF mufflers are no more rice than clear lenses. As for the Tanabe I think it would look good but I like the HKS carbon fiber one better. Again I too am unsure about the quality. I would still like to see one on a max.
