Can any schmuck with tools change exhaust?
Can any schmuck with tools change exhaust?
Just wanted to know if I bought a cat back system from Budget or somewhere, could I do the work myself or is it worth having a REAL mechanic do it for me?
I appreciate your honest opinions
Thanks
Jim

Just about any idiot with the correct tools and enough patience can do a lot of mods themselves. Exhaust is only a few bolts, some hangers and manuvering the pipe around the axel...not very hard at all.
Do it yourself, be proud, and save that hundred bucks of install money.

Depends on the condition of the bolts connecting the cat to the b-pipe and the b-pipe to the muffler. If they look welded on with rust than it's worth your money to have some else do it.
Just don't give yourself a hernia trying to loosen those frozen bolts. That's the only dangerous part.
