Can any schmuck with tools change exhaust?

Just wanted to know if I bought a cat back system from Budget or somewhere, could I do the work myself or is it worth having a REAL mechanic do it for me?
I appreciate your honest opinions

Thanks
Jim

Many people split the work with mechanics. If your mechanically inclined with the right tools it shouldnt be a problem. But if not spend the extra money and save yourself the mistakes and frustration

Just about any idiot with the correct tools and enough patience can do a lot of mods themselves. Exhaust is only a few bolts, some hangers and manuvering the pipe around the axel...not very hard at all.

Do it yourself, be proud, and save that hundred bucks of install money.

Depends on the condition of the bolts connecting the cat to the b-pipe and the b-pipe to the muffler. If they look welded on with rust than it's worth your money to have some else do it. If the bolts look Ok than it's not to bad. Getting all the pieces to fit properly takes some patience but that's the hardest part.

If you do a little research and have the right tools, you can rebuild the entire car.... The exhaust is somewhat easy.... Anybody with the proper tools can do it

Just don't give yourself a hernia trying to loosen those frozen bolts. That's the only dangerous part.
