Make sure you get a B pipe with a resonator, and look for a used 5th gen muffler. That'll be the quietest setup, with some decent power gains, too.

I think it has to come with a b-pipe, or else how would you connect the other muffler? It probably splits into 2 pipes somewhere after, but close to the cat. Oh, and no, its not worth it unless you are just going for a custom look, performance will be pretty much the same as any other cat-back

You can stay with a 4th gen, but I was assuming you wanted more power while still keeping things quiet. With the 5th gen muffler, you can get more power out of your exhaust than the 4th gen. I beleive you have to weld on a few flanges to put the 5th gen on, not a major job though.

I would not reccomend the random tech cat. Many people on the org have had problems with the baffles inside becoming loose and ratting around inside. And ended up getting a new one. Notice some of the sigs around here have "random tech cat hater number **" in them. Plus a cat converter does not even yeild very good gains at all (maybe 1-2 HP if that). But everything else sounds good

Question: I really don't want to get an aftermarket muffler because in my opinion they add to much noise compared to just the stock muffler. However, I would like to hear some sort of an exhaust note. I was wondering if getting a the b-pipe without the resonator would do? Is the exhaust tone to loud with this setup?

from wat i heard around here if u get the b-pipe without the resonator u will get a louder exhaust sound.... it suggested that u get it with a resonator and get a 5th gen. muf or use ur stock one.

I know Carsound makes good cat's and so why not just get that with 2.5" inlet and outlet opening. If you stick with your stock cat, i believe you would experience bottle necking and flow will not be as straight through as it could be, assuming we want a 2.5" exhaust from y-pipe to muffler.
