Whistling noise from the engine????????

When the car is in idle you can hear a whistling sound from the engine. I am not sure where it is coming from but it stops when I push the gas pedal. What could it be? I just replaced O2 sensors and knock sensors. Did I do something wrong when I put everything back. The car runs fine and I am getting excellent gas mileage so far. Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks

I had that before but the sound went away after the belts were changed so maybe its from your belts/pulley area?

[Daniel B Martin]

Get a 3 foot long rubber hose. Stick one end in your ear and aim the other end at various parts of the engine to isolate the source of the noise.

What year is your Maxima? Mines a 96 and Im getting the ame thing. Not from the belts either.

I have the part on order from Courtesy Nissan to fix it..........still waiting

Im 99.9% sure this will fix it. I dont want to say what it is till I actually do.

This noise seems to plague the 95-96 models only.......

Its not anything to do with the chain (the part I ordered).....thats the .1% Im afraid of

I hope Im not coming off like a J.O. but I really dont want to say until I fix it.

Its not a cheap part ($120) and I dont want people to run out & buy it & waste $$$ if it doesnt work (which it better!!!)

I just had this same problem as well... Check the belt pully... Cleaned mine up and that resolved the problem.
