Raced an I35

My friend who owns an I30 (i never raced it) came down from Norcal the other night and showed me his loaner I35 he got from the dealer. His I30 is in the shop. He let me test drive around the block a couple times (streets were empty of course) and WOW..that 3.5 VQ is pretty swift. Anyways we ran once from a stop, I pulled ahead from the start because i brake torqued and i think he had traction control on , anyways he starts walking me and we both shut it down around 80 by then he had about 1/2 car length on me. He was very surprised that my max did so well. (he doesnt know much about maximas) so he thought i was running around 240 hp because i kept up to his "255".

I have y-pipe, intake and catback and ran with subs in the back. Hmm...this should mean i should spank his I30 then right???

well, i dont understand why he would say that he doesnt know much about maximas when I30s and maximas are basically the same thing underneath the hood. i dont know why that would allow you to spank his I30 either since once again, if he has the same mods as your car, it would basically be even and would depend on small things like whose reflexes are better, and who was able to optimize the performance of the vehicle during the race. When I got loaners (2nd gen I30s) i wasnt too used to the way they drove since the seating was different, steering wheel was diff, and the car "felt" different than mine...it IS a diff. car and he definately wasnt used to driving the I35 since its a loaner.

Man I actually went to a spot where everyone said they were going to meet up and no one ever showed up? I just thought you might have a more organized way of setting up meets? Guess not. I'll check the west coast forums but how will I know if anything is going to be set in stone or not? I dont want to drive all the way out to Laguna Niguel again if no one is going to show>
thanx

lol joseph, that happened to me at the first meet I ever attended. It sucks when you have to do something like that, and nobody shows.
