o/d switch problem / '97 automatic
Hello,
I have recently encountered a little problem. My o/d switch on my automatic has gone out. The o/d light is not appearing at all on the dashboard (except when I start it). Has anyone had to replace the switch within the shifter?
The car drives as if 'I have the o/d on'. Toggling the switch back and fourth does nothing. Any suggestions on how to replace the switch would be greatly appreciated.

Same problem.. different start
Yup. I've got a 97 SE with the same problem. O/D switch does nothing. Therefore, can't get the Trans computer into diagnose output mode. Car drives with O/D on (1st thru 4th) all the time regardless of O/D switch position.
HOWEVER, and this is a large however...
The check engine light diag gives a 10-03 and an 11-01 code. Both have to do with the shifter position switch (or some such thing).
I just recently replaced this transmission myself with a salvage tranny (from a junkyard) with 70k on it. I'm thinking either the switch on this tranny is bad or the connector is not connected.
Anyone have any thoughts on this???
