acceleration wierdness

I posted a thread not long ago about a wierd noise that I encountered during moderate acceleration while pulling the rpms through about 3.5k. There was also a noticable power loss all around from where it has been, in particular near the top end. I recently hit 100k miles and the problem is becoming more persistant. the noise is noticably louder when i pull through the lower rpms and I know that its not just my ****-obsession that there is always something wrong with my car because my roomate noticed it too. Anyway, I tried pulling codes, and the ecu says nothing is wrong. so Im wondering what it could be, I will be taking it in, but id like to know what you guys think first. thanks

the noise is a low, almost soft grinding noise, a high frequency, soft vibration can be felt on the accerator. Its a feeling that everything isnt quite solid, very hard to explain. I guess the tech will have to hear it to understand. but if anyone has any ideas, thad be great

Does it do it in neutral or only when your transmission is enguaged.

If you can't hear anything in neutral, I suspect your tranny is the problem.

I have the exact same problem but I used to notice mine more when the car had been driven for a while but now it is more prevalent after the car warms up.

2naboy, you seem to know. it is only present after the car warms up or has been drivin quite a bit. and no, I cant record it because it is more felt in the pedal and seat vibrations than just a sound.

How about the carrier bearing on the passenger side drive shaft? If thats starting to bind or ware out you'll probably feel that sucker right through the floor boards.

The carrier bearing is mid point on the passenger side axel. It supports and holds the axel in place. Three bolts and some prying will seperate the bearing which is part of the axel. You can't replace just the bearing, you must replace the axel if it's gone bad.
