DIY Bumper Install

Im not that handy,..handy enough to do brakes and what not, but I was thinking about buying a used front bumper to replace my cracked one.. How hard would it be for me to install it myself?

i'm about to install a new SE bumper over my GXE cuz i got into a minor accident couple months ago. i believe there should be 9-12 bolts u'll need to remove. jack up front side of ur car, observe the bolt position off ur new bumper and try to take the bolts off. i don't think there is an instruction regarding replacing a new bumper...

good luck.

If you can do your brakes this shouldn't be too hard. I swapped my front end to the newer style so I had the headlights and everything out when I did it.

There are connections in the middle of the bumper and where it touches the fenders. That's all I can remember right off...

I've never done it, but I looked at it in the Haynes manual a while ago. Didn't see too tough...a few bolts on the top & sides and a few underneath. If you have a Haynes manual, you can see it. If not, go to the autoparts store and look at the book. Even looking at it should give you a pretty good idea where the bolts are.

Yeah I have a Haynes Manual... My bumper got pretty scratched up and theres chipped paint after rear-ending someone last winter. Also there are 2 holes from where a front liscense plate was from the previous owner. Sounds like I'll go for it. Thanks for the input.
