Horn chirp on remote locking
#1
Ok after searching out a way to replace the blinking lights on remote lock with a chirp on remote lock, I think I finally found what I need. I noticed a nice little clicking noise coming form the trunk area when locking the doors. So I took off some of the carpet liner in the trunk and found the relay that was clicking. So I disconnected it and the remote keyless still works and the flashers work (when using the hazard lights) just on remote locking the flashers don't flash. So this must be the way to connect horn or electronic buzzer to the system without having it go off with the regular blinkers, I'll see what I can work up and I'll keep ya'll posted.
Hope this helps,
Jeff

Many have asked, none have answered. (I think I offered a thought with using a relay in one of these.)
I don't need/want this mod, but I'd be interested in how and if it can be done.

Well so far I have been successful in getting smaller electronic buzzers to work on lock, but as far as getting a 12v 6 amp horn to work on it, no luck without rewiring. I was able to get the regular car horn to work but only at a constant tone if I got a little funny with the wiring. I should have a little more time to invest into the project this weekend and it seems like I'm just a little bit away... just need to sit down and diagram the system out. I'll keep ya'll posted.

If you want a chirp and not a constant honk, try making a short delay from a RC curcuit or use a 555 timer chip. I can elaborate if you want.
