Queastion - What is this engine sensor ?
Just cleaned the throttle body - followed steps on motorvate.ca.
So far the car starts great, idles strong and steady, and feels quicker at low end. well worth the time - just over an hour.
While I was checking around, I noticed a loose connection on top of the radiator water return hose near the top of the engine block. It connects right on top of the hose near the engine on the drivers side front. It's an electrical clip. some sort of temp sensor i think.
Does anyone know what this does?
Thanks

I know its confusing, I had to go out and look at it twice to write this.
If you locate the water hose going into the top right of the radiator, follow the hose back to where it goes into the engine block. sitting right in top of that hose (about an inch away from the engine block), is an eletrical connection. It looks like a temperature sensor. It has a small rubber boot that connects a thin wire to it.
It guess it gets heated by the water, and singals 'something'.
I think this was causing my 'warm start' problems because this sensor was messed up.
Thanks

You should have gotten a check engine light if that was disconnected. That definately would cause a starting issues as well. Does your check engine light come on when you turn your ignition key to the on position? If not, the bulb is blown or removed.
The check engine light does come on - I just checked.
The water temp sensor was not completely off, but just barely hanging on. Plus it had dirt/grease on the connection. That might have been enough to cause an intermitent problem -- which is what I was getting.
Right when the engine was beginning to warm up.

. If I remember correctly, they are water temp sensors, with one being for the gauge, and the other for the ECU.
