Tranny died AGAIN?!

i start up car in the morning... i notice that the clutch feels way too light. Like when I push it it in, there wasn't much force required to do so as there was before.

I have an Exedy clutch btw... so then the car starts up, but it refuses to go into any gear. blah! well, i still have warranty from the repair, but I hope they don't blame the clutch and make me pay for the repair. Can anyone shed some light on what the problem could be? Thanks!

btw- i did look for leaks, but I didn't see any under the car. The car ran fine yesterday... no problems.

well, gotta take the other car to school... please help guys.

Thanks

Sounds like a clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder problem, or maybe a clutch hydraulic fluid leak. Did you check the level of fluid in the master cylinder? Will the tranny go into gear with the engine off?

If the tranny was put in with a new clutch, then you can probably rule out those two components considering they are both so new. I would guarantee you that this is a clutch line component failure, ie. master cylinder, slave cylinder, line, etc.

blah that's what i thought... looks like i gotta spend more money

The clutch does return back up... it's just when I press it down, it feels all weak and soft.

AND, i'm ruling out the transmission because I can shift gears w/ the car off and my foot off the clutch.

I think I remember the tranny guy mentioning something about how the clutch cylinder doesn't look good or whatevers.

I'll check the resevoir... can this thing be replaced w/o the tranny being dropped?? How much would I be spending?

THANKS ALOT guys, i reall appreciate it

you can also check to see if the fork that holds the TO bearing, is still aligned and holding the TO bearing in place

96Shogun max's advice did the trick!!

Both Hal and him knew that I was low on clutch fluid... i went out and checked and they were right. Then shogun told me to get some brakefluid Dot3 and fill it up... which I did. I pumped the clutch for a long time afterwards and voila! it felt normal again, and I can drive the car around! yaaaay

now I gotta find where the leak is.
