a showdown with a prelude

well it was more of a slaughter. I pull up to this new body style honda prelude.. all decked out, exhaust ,probobly intake, stickers, guages.. u name it its there. Anywayz light goes green and i walk him in 1st, and by the end of second he's like a car and 1/2 back. I shut it down by 70.. no need for more. (maxima) (prelude) . Not sure if it was a Type SH. Could have been. I've raced that before.. beat it by a few cars.. till 90 but then around 90 the prelude would come back.. but it wouldnt be enough. Must be the Vtec.

preludes have decent speed, but i think they are just a tad slower then the gsr's. well what can you say, no matter what modification you do to a honda acura, it will only give them 1-3 hp on each. hahaha.

They are faster than GS-R. And FYI, Type SH's are slightly slower than the base. Good kill anyhow.

the type SH is slower, but not by a lot, it weighs more. and the prelude is a step up from the GS-R. the prelude is faster, handles better, more HP, better top end, better trans(atleast i think so)

good kill, next time try one from a roll, it should be a good race.

newer body style 5spd lude can go 6.7 to sixty and 15.1 1/4 mi if I am not mistaken. On the street the Max will win most of the time because with no TQ you have to know how to drive your car to get those kinds of numbers.

stock for stock...5spd lude vs. 5spd Max would prolly be a good race for most people.

those the specs you looking for?

i know they got 200hp too and I think they weigh just under 2900lbs.

Max owns a Prelude off the line, around town, through the 1/8th mile, and through the 1/4 mile. The only time the Prelude is in that top 15% of its powerband long enough where it has an advantage is on the highway in 4th gear beyond 90. This is where the Maxima is weakest (without MEVI) and where the Prelude is strongest. So don't run one on the highway, but at real-world speeds they have much to fear. Type-SH's are even heavier (slower), but do have a nifty HLSD / ATTS (active torque transfer system) which gives it some awesome handling that the Maxima could never match.

Nice kill
