Gas Station Difference

Hi Y'll

Living in miami and watching the gas prices play the seesaw game (though in comparison to other places...)

My quest is is Cheveron premium better that Sunoco.
Both have some for of detergent in the gas to prevent buildup but I was just wondering if it wouldn't be the same to buy Sunoco gas and dump a bottle of Techron Concentrate in say every 4 tank fill.

Small poll what is the perfered brand used amongst you maxilovers?

From what I remember, there was a thread about cheveron gas and they only put appox 10ml of Techron for every 100gal of gas. Paying for Chevron gas isn't really worth it in my opinion. Costco gas baby! $1.87 for 91 octane.. and in SF thats cheap...

Right down the street, there is a Chevron and a Race Trac right next to each other, and the Chevron is consistently exactly 2 cents higher than Race trac. Everyday. I save myself 30 cents

What? It's been $1.83-$1.89 for the past 2 weeks. Depends which part of the city I guess. I only use AMOCO ULTIMATE, a block from my house . I might try shell with the higher gas mileage crap...

I used costco or BJ's gas or whatever for around 10 cent cheaper than mobil, exxon, sunoco. That gas burns really quick, and I find myself at E at faster than normal. After going back to mobil, the gas burns quite slower and it has made me a believer.

i live in a very small town and gas prices have been sitting at 1.71 to 1.79 for sometime now, but 3 or 4 times a week we have a big grocery store that has been droping gas prices to 1.45 for premium. For whatever reason they are doing it, you better believe the place is flooded with cars, people waiting in line for gas. people pushing and shoving , fighting for position.

as for me im still unsure about putting it in the maxima, i just pass by and think, well no waiting in line over at chevron !

I have a Amaco beside my home in Miami, but Just never opt to go any more...

If any one can find that article on Chevron 10ml per 100 gla please send me link. So I guess if I use sunoco and just dump some techron in the tank at fill up I'll end up saving on gas at premium fillups.

Cool running was fake :-)

2 weeks ago the cheapest gas I could find was $2.29 in Seattle.

Now it's somewhat better - ($2.03).

If I drive north about 20 miles out of the city it drops to like $1.83 for Shell.

(92 Octane)

Seeing all these prices it makes me feel better paying about 1.5 for premium here in S.A. TX.

Used Mobil, but it was an okay gas. Citgo worked for me, but can't pass up the 5% Shell gas rebate

Paid $1.96/gal for Shell 93 so it's about $1.86/gal with the 5% rebate Getting 16-18 MPG with many short trips (drive to school with cold engine and by the time it's warmed up, I've reached school already =P).

Gasoline differs from station to station, even the same brand. I used to buy CLARK for a few months cause it gave me a better gas mileage than AMOCO and I always bought it from the same place. One day I went to a different CLARK station and bought 93 again. After maybe 5 seconds of driving the KS code popped up and my car went crazy and shut off. Ever since then all I get is AMOCO and now I'm thinking of MOBIL and Shell...

Yeah it's ****ed. My KS has been dead since the day I got the car so I've been driving a max with 80% power all this time. When that happened it was the first time, and last, that the code actually popped up on the ECU without me checking it. It popped up together with O2 code as well so that had to be replaced...
