Monster flow with resonator

Just installed my Monster Flow filter on my 99 SE with the stock resonator in place. I was going to go with the midpipe, but most think you loose on the low end and with an auto tranny I don't want any more lag than I have. I just let the filter sit in the bottom piece of the stock air box. Its kind of WAI with a little bit of cool air fed from the original snorkel coming from the radiator. Not sure if there are any gains, but it sounds like a race car at WOT! Makes passing the left lane hogs on my commute that much more satisfying!

Anyone have any idea how this compares to the K&N panel filter setup? Seems like it should breath a bit better.

So did tou get a panel filter or a cone? If you got a cone your low end is gone. You should've just cut holes in the sides of the lower box for more air...

It's a cone foam filter with "turbulence reducing vanes" if you believe the marketing. I didn't notice any loss of low end, but I've only had it for a week. Its hard to tell with the slushomatic. I miss my 5spd, but commuting is a lot less effort. Just ordered the budget Y pipe to recoup any apparent loss of power thru the gearbox.

Since the top of the air box was removed keeping the snorkle and the bottom of the box is pointless. Make a top for it or something, get creative...
