5.0 Got Me

I raced a mint condition 87 5.0 stang and got my *** beat. If I would have had better tires I might of had him. I have $40 tires and they left a mean patch of butter on the tarmack; about 40 feet +. Anyways, after I shifted into 2nd he pulled pretty hard to about 2 car lengths and I couldn't recover. Anyways, I think i got the mod bug now 'cause I NEED to beat him the next time! Good race but he hooked up far better than my FWFD Max.

With a 14.6 that you ran on your stock max, I'd like to see the slip, you should've been closer to him, if he was stock. His car runs 14.8 stock, 6.8s 0-60, 225hp/300tq, 3270lbs...

he might not be stock.. although if you burnt out that long it might have cost you.. try launching at a lower rpm and holding it well.. say 2500.
what did you launch at?

burning rubber for 40 feet is slowing you down a lot. get some tires with better traction and try launching differently.

not really... the 87 isnt as powerful as you think. They respond very well to modification primarily because the stock equipment suuuucks. getting new headers and a less restrictive intake would make him a force to be reckoned with.

yes but with 225hp and 300 torque ( thats hella torque), u should be expecting 0-60 around 6 seconds, not 6.8 !
