I lost my key, dont have a spare, and did not write down the key number. will my nissan dealer be able to make me a new key if i bring my VIN # and registration info? please reply if you know anything about this.

well, all i know is that your car has a key code, sometimes on a piece of paper in your owners manual, and someone can reproduce your key if they can look at your lock cylinder settings, but yeh i think the vin also can be used. bottom line if a dealership cant do this for you than they are teh SUCK.

Moe Ron --sorry couldn't resist-- yeah that sux-- i usually put an extra key and some spare cash under the cup holder--- in my 98 max you can pull up the cup holders and put some spare crap in there for emergency use-and then no one knows its there-parents, girlfriend cant get in to it

any nissan dealer should be able to make you a key for the car with the vin#, be sure you have your regitration and a picture ID for them to be able to do that for you though. Also if your car is a 99, the key wont start the car till the key is programmed
