KNOCK Sensor Changed~!

I just would like to thank www.skippynet.com for The guidance, and what tools to use. I tried myself before looking at any directions and WOW, i had no luck. I'm a 6'6'' dude, and i Have HUUUGE hands. I got me a 14'' extension and a swivel socket, and within half an hour, and one tiny cut on my hand, I had Succeeded! upon checkin the ecu? 0505!
Thank you skippynet and maxima.org...I CANT WAIT TO TEST DRIVE!

yeah his car blew up. WTF kind of question is that? A KS doesn't stop your spark plugs from detonating in the engine. How else would the people with bad sensor still drive their cars???

Hey, did it remove the hesitation?? Oh, and my retarded screw for checking the ECU is partially hiding behind the metal cover, hence I can't access it unless I take the metal plate cover off!! Frig!!!

no, i didn/t mean that the car blew up. i meant di the engine detonate, misfire,. My engines detonates on low gas like 87 here in ca, but runs perfect on 91. on 87, the valves hit the top of the piston and that is detonation.

You wouldn t want your piston to hit the valves, cause you d call www.car-parts.com and look for a new engine . Sometimes , silence is golden
Is always good to use the best octane if available. If you use 87 ,you ve got the answer to your problem ...

91 and above only guys HEH...It removed all hesitation and the other nite i took my friend for a ride, right after i changed the sensor, and started a roll at 5 mph, And then put it to the floor...Didnt regain traction again until the top of 2nd gear when i used to do that with the bad knock sensor, the car would hardly chirp its tires!
gas milage has improved as well.. With a fair amount of hard driving, I am down to about 3/4 of a tank, with 110miles on the trip odo...

Detonation = when the air/fuel mixture ignites/detonates before the piston reaches TDC (IE: piston is still travelling toward the cylinder head at the time of detonation) This is baaaaad, mmmkay.

yeah, i know that iti s bad. And the only things that come to my mind to I can stop that is use higher gas, which works but expensive in ca, replace knock sensor, I haven't tried that yet, and go to Nissan and ask then if the can decrease timing about 2 degrees, haven't tried that yet either.

Just replaced my knock sensor with new one, but cannot get resistance reedings from the other end of the harness, it shows nothing.
It looks like the wire in harness is ripped at some point, or what could it be????

I heard harnesses are quite expensive, up to 90 bucks, is that true???

Opinions Welcomed!!!

I'll do it now, but did not reset ECU since I put it in, so it may give the code again. I think I also got a power increase, but not really sure if it is true or just a Placebo Effect.
