The laws may be different from state to state, here's Massachusettes:

The manufacturer has 3 cure attempts for the same defect; or 15 business days maximum out of service by reason of attempts to cure for any defect. Once the 3 attempts or 15 days is met, the manufacturer gets one final attempt of no more than 7 business days to cure. This 7 days begins when the manufacturer knew or should have known that "3 attempts or 15 days" test was not met.

Some states do not have lemon laws - - and that would suck if you got one.
