Anyone familiar with the motor mounts on ebay?

Saw some motor mounts on ebay....this guy has a hookup in China or taiwan or something he said. $40 for each one brand new, and he has a decent amount of good feedback. Anyone ever buy some from him...I was considering buying both the front and rear

I'm not familiar with them, but was wondering how the erasers were working for you...I think you were the one that tried that right?

Why not just get place racing ones?

Yea the erasers fit well and work, but i just noticed that one of them is badly ripped so I need to replace it. Place racing are mad $$ and have bad idle, while these are cheap and are a stock replacement

I don't see why not. Price is ok. A good move if you're on a budget, don't wanna fill your own, or can't have down-time while your mounts are out.

Yea I think im gunna bite the bullet and buy the front and rear...although I heard you had to grind a small portion of the bottom lip for it to fit perfect on the front mount....no big deal

why do you have to grind? are they not direct replacements?

I was talking to some one who bought them and they said all 4 went on fine but the front one you have to do some "very very small grinding on the bottom" for it to fit the way it should. They are a direct replacement except for that little bit of grinding which I havent confirmed yet.

That's really odd. As far as I remember, You can remove the lower cross member, then remove the mounts while supporting the engine w/a jack. Well, please make a writeup when you're finished so we can help others later on!

Yea, im not to sure if I really need to actually grind anything. Based on what the guy said, it was a really really small amount he had to grind off because something about the holes. It would be really nice to polyurethane them....fairly cheap

i know u said u wanted to keep a smooth idle... but perhaps consider filling the new mounts before installing. Use a low durometer poly. I think most people are usuing 94... try something lower.

I might actually, it depends if I really want to wait for them to cure since school is starting soon. I was thinking window weld but it's very messy stuff and I dont want to go through the hassel of having to mix polyurethane and letting it cure.....unless the results are REALLY worth it compared to brand new mounts

they look fine. I just purchased a new rear mount from the dealership for $100 with tax and all. for the same money you can get front and rear mounts and a 1lb urethane kit from McMaster Carr and have your own urethane mounts. I filled all four of mine and I love em.

also you dont have to support the engine to remove the front and rear mounts, and the urethane I used was 80A.

nah you won't find this stuff at any retail store. This is an industrial casting compound. You will have to order it from www.mcmaster.com do a search for urethane and then look for 80A shore. You can call however to place your order.

DAMN! This guy is quick! Ordered yesterday at 2:00pm, and got them THIS MORNING at 11:30......that's impressive service!

To the mounts...everything looks in order. The back mount has a small gap compared to the front, almost looks like its filled. Cant wait to slip these puppies on!! This guy is HIGHLY recommended...never seen better service

I wish....I got the front for $40 and the rear for $40 and 10 bucks shipping, minus 5% discount (New Years present ) .....Came out to like $86

E-mail him before you buy so he can give you exact part numbers, in my case this is for a 96 5-speed:

95-96 BEFORE 2/96 Front mount 7305 Price $40.00
95-99 Rear mount 7302 Price $40.00
95-99 Right mount 7304 Price $66.00
94-99 Transmission Mount 7313 Price $45.00

Shipping - $7.00 + $3.00 for each after the first one

I think these are a lot better than spending $90 each from the dealer or $200 for both from PR
