short in headlight - pops on and off - HELP
I would have searched the forum for a topic like this, butt he search isn't working.
My wife's 97 Max GLE has a funky right headlight. most of the time when we turn the headlamps on, the right won't come on. we either have to bang the front of the light, or pop the hood and jiggle the wire harness that connects to the bulb itself.
the odd thing is that even when the regular beam is out, we can switch hi beams on and it works fine.
is it a bulb gone bad or a wiring short? any help is MUCH appreciated.
thanks in advance!!!

Headlight intermittent problem. Short?
I have a 1996 Maxima with about 135k-150k miles on it.
About 8 months ago I noticed my left fog light was out. I knocked on it, and it came back on.
I have had to knock on it more and more often to get it to stay on.
About 2 months ago, the low bean stopped working on one of my headlights. I cannot remember which one it was.
I changed out both bulbs with some 'blue tint' bulbs that I got on Ebay.
The new bulbs seemed to work fine.
About a week ago, the low beam went out again on one of the headlights.
In the last few days the fog lights seemed to not be working at all.
Today;
1. The other low beam went out, so now I have no low-beams.
2. When the high beams are on, the fog lights do not work at all.
3. When the light switch is in the 'low beam' position, the fog lights seem to work fine, although the low beams are dead and I get zero light from the headlights.
If anyone knows any common causes for this in general, or specifically for this type of vehicle, please let me know.
If anyone can recommend a procedure to diagnose this problem, I would appreciate it.

Light problems
I dont know, both fog lights are out as is the passanger side Cornering/Clerance light is out too. Ive had the car for less than two weeks and the fog lights were working the other day I swear! This is after my boyfriend and I spent 10 hours trying to get the turn signals to work! After all that work, his buddy walked up looked down and told us that the wires were grounding on some metal! Plus I have next to zero knowledge in regards to cars...all I know is how to drive one! Plus there's this bizare toggle switch that really bothers me and the guy who sold me the car said it could be for the fog lights that the previous owner put in (they're stock silly!) Plus the switch doesnt seem to do anything...this thing may make me go bonkers.

To test the functionality of the low beams, remove the connectors from the bulbs, and turn the low beams on. Using a volt meter, test for voltage between the low beam pin (pin 2) and the negative battery terminal. If voltage is present, check for continuity between the ground pin (pin 3) and the negative battery terminal.
The following connector diagram is valid for all 9004 headlamps.
