I did the same had my needle buried. i dont think my bro's auto can do that, just bcuz it would take so much longer for it to get there than my car.

2 things that could make a difference. One is tire diameter, a smaller diameter then stock could cause a difference of a couple hundred rpms. The other is that tachs are not exact and can differe from car to car a couple hundred rpms

Ha, just wish I had the answer for that one...I had only done that once and wasn't paying attention to my rpm's at the time since I was on a highway and other cars were around

I have 235/45/17's on the max. they are virtually the same size as stock 15's. that would not make a difference would it? thanks for posting.

so the car's rpm's go up all car's are like that
