Practicality of valve body mod.

I'm thinkin about doing this mod as I hear it helps your tranny shift better. Has this mod benifitted anyone significantly or is it pointless. anything to help my tranny out a bit is something I'll do.

as far as i know, it really seems to increase shift firmness, wich helps create less heat in the tranny (heat is a bad thing). Not only does it make the shifts faster, it can actually help prolong the life of the transmission. As far as actual timeslips are concerned, i don't know if anyone has gone to the track with the stock VB and then run again with the only upgrade being the VB Mod.

Ok, how much does it cost? I saw a how-to on putting it on. I'm definately gonna have somebody put it on. Transmission's not my thing.

it increases the line pressure in the automatic transmission. this means if full throttle is applied, and he internals are spinning very rapidly, the pressure increases. At normal speed shifts, it is still smooth and comfortable. When you really lay into the gas...its obviously a harder shift, and much smoother and less lag than stock. You ever really floor it, and the tranny seems like its thinking whether or not to down shift? During that period of time, the engine is still spinning, but the tranny isnt exactly griping, so you can really mess up some internals (i believe clutch bands are the big wear part). A VB mod (of you drive "spiritedly") can extend the life of your transmission. according to the mobiletek site, it can yeild a .4-.6 second drop in your quarter mile time. Several people have gotten the VB and noticed no change in performance, returned it, and got a brand new one back that performed wonderfully.

Are you sure that it only changes the shifts during WOT? I had a person who has a VB in his max drive in my car and he said that the shifts are pathetic compared to his VB. I never went WOT but he still made that comment, making me think that it changed the shifts at all times. I'm not saying you're wrong SXN, I'm just saying that he way my friend said it sounded like 100% of the shifting was changed. I don't have a VB so I can't really say. Someone with a VB plese answer this guys question.

no, you didnt read it write. it is firmer shifts all around. but the pressure increases with engine RPM (so firmest at WOT) Its unlike the drop resistor mod, that gives full line pressure at all times

Do the valve body mods increase both the upshift and downshift firmness or just the upshift firmness?

id go to maxtunning as they have great customer service. the vb is a great mod if you really cant stand the granny auto shifts we have.

i had problems with my tranny after i installed my vb, not sure why, but then jeremysride2000 and i did his vb and he hasnt had any problems at all.

the vb will make your auto much much more enjoyable/sporty to drive.

good luck

if any of those VB owners would like to make a "how-to" or install write up, that would be cool
