I'm in my senior year now. My first car was an '88 Cadillac coupe deville. Grey with Grey leather. Awsome car. As some of you may know, all Caddy's up until recently were FWD. My Caddy could do burnouts down the block. Then I was pulling out of a parking lot and some Shmuk in her saturn came down at like 60mph, cut around a van that was turning into the same parking lot, and as I pulled out and hit my brakes, she just got in front of me and (If any of you have ever owned or seen an older Caddy, you know they are tanks) My two front BUMPER GUARDS ripped the entire side of her car off. I was crackin up.

Now I have my Maxima. I'd say I have the nicest car that any of the kids paid for themselves. I can't wait to start modding so I can make them all feel dumb. My target is a 96 or a 97 mustang GT.

I graduated in 1998, and I had a 1989 Nissan Maxima GXE. Burgundy on burgundy/brown leather. Only had 65K miles at the time. I had the car until last March when I got my 99. My 89 was a great car, and I hope my 99 will be equally as good or better!

Your not the only "old timer" here. MY HS car was a Baby Blue 1954 Ford Custom. Graduated HS 10 years before Ford made your Maverick.

I'm a senior now, graduating in my 96 gxe. Love the car, but at my school full of rich kids it's nothing compared to the bimmers, benzes, acuras, a couple lexuses, a pimped out caddy cts, wrx, hummer, etc...

I'm a senior now, bought my 97 SE 5spd spring/summer of last year. so far i have:
WS Y-Pipe, 3" hollow cat, B-pipe, borla 2.5" muffler, CAI w/K&N, ST shifter, Eibach's, Autometer tach w/shift light, AM A/F gauge, CF tails, indiglo gauges, neon kit, body graphics, and more minor stuff. I'd post a pic or two, but dont have a camera.
In my school, there are much faster cars like and STi, EVO, 350z's, firehawk, but no one as modded as me though.

Sounds like my high school is similar to Maxi's. Our school has two WRX's one is an STI the other was given to a mod shop with a lot of money and came out with gold rims and rally stickers. A Black EVO and a White EVO , BMW M3 (Kid also has a integra with a R engine in it), Yellow Vette, and some random old mercedes. Some random "cheap" BMW's . Those are the parent bought cars. Couple kids riding around in stripped out civic hatches. ( look like crap but have/had type r motors but they actually did pay for them.)

I am rolling in a 96 Maxima which is one of the nicer kid bought cars but yeah no way I will win the best car of the year unless I finish my stereo in time. Just interesting to hear stories of some stripped hatchbacks taking WRX's and M5's I wish one of them would win best car of the year. I know it will be some kid in a mustang.

You guys are ahead of me. I didn't have a decent car until I was in my 20s. I think I had a Dodge Cult when I graduated in '93. I can honestly say I don't miss that car.

intel- whats the name of your HS? i go to stevenson if you've heard about it.
I really wish we had something like "car of the week" in our HS newspaper. there are at least 1000 students who have their own cars, out of the total 4000+ students overall. I can proudly say that i'm in the Top 1% of my class (Best 10 rides) Which isn't bad IMO since i go to school where often time you see kids driving stock RSX-S' that their gramas bought them

I drove a 91 Pontiac LeMans (built by Daewoo) for about 2 weeks until I got my '96 gle midway through my sophmore year. (see home page) I paid half of the down payment ($2000) and my parents paid the other half. So I was a little spoiled then and definitely am now. I was going to a school that was 1/2 an hour away at the time so my parents wanted me to have a safe car, but I was really unhappy at that school (catholic school) and was allowed to go back to my old school for junior and senior years. My parents make the payments on it now, but I used to have to help with that. My mom doesnt want me to have a job in the winter though because I might get into an accident. I feel guilty about not paying, but its nice that she doesnt just sell it, heck its even helped her out when her car is getting worked on. So now my car is usually parked in the garage because my current high school is right across the street. Nobody gets to see it, but at least I dont have to worry about neglectful high school kids and their carelessness towards other people's possesions. I'd venture to say that I have the nicest car out of the students, maybe not the newest, but probably the all around nicest. I'll be graduating at the end of May this year.
In conclusion, I wish my school had a senior car contest or something of the sort. Oh, and sorry for the essay.

Maxi I go to Fremd High School. The cars I mentioned are just the ones in the lot since we have about 3000 people but only have I think about 200-300 parking passes so like I bum rides to school and the maxima stays in the nice warm garage since I didnt win the raffle for a parking pass. (luck me though I dont have to pay 160 bucks for the whole year)

1991 FORD Tempo L....L for luxury! You say that a Max is luxurious, you havnt seated yourself into a Tempo L. Man that car sucked, but it got me from school and back that way i didnt take the stinky a$$ bus with the spring out of the seat that pricked ur a$$ over bumps. Right after Highschool i got the Max, i didnt want it in highschool cause it would have been demolished when i came out at the end of the school day. Damn thugs!

That's very close Ludacris. lol. Except mine was a white, 4 door hatchback(with skateboard stickers all over the back). And I can't forget the maroon interior, crank windows and A.M.-only radio.
