the 98 max that i have now is my first car, and im graduating this year....i love it, but its probably the cheapest out of my friends cars. This is what my best friends are driving in no particular order: 02 ML 55, 04 Bmw 645, 04 G35 Coupe, 01 SL 600, 02 C32 AMG, 01 GS400, 02 IS300, 96 Supra TT, 93 300zx TT, 01 M3, 03 RX-8. None of them are over 21 and all are bought by their parents except the GS400, the Supra and the ML 55

i may have the "worst" car but im the proudest of my ride coz i payed for it entirely myself and i pay for insurance, gas and to maintain it
wow, what a bunch of nice cars. i know wht u should do. save up a lot of money,
build a sick turbo setup like HlH to where you can smoke all those cars.

My car in high school was my 98 maxima. I remember when I was 13 and my mom first got the maxima, I said I got dibs on it once you get a new car. She said yes and I never forgot about it. When she got her 2k3 maxima I reminded her and she let me drive it everyday to high school. I graduated 2002. She finally gave it to me my freshman year of college. I started modding it in High school though before I even owned it. My parents are the sh*t.

didnt have my own car in high school...occasionally drove my moms 89 volvo station wagon....ya it was a wagon and it was old, but it had a turbo and i had the comfort of knowing that i was driving a tank and that if i got in an accident all i would suffer from was a dented bumper...and who knows what the hell would happen to the other guy.

Not too long ago for me I got my first car 10th grade summer. I was 1 of 3 of my friends that had cars. Sadly mine was the best. 1993 Buick Skylark GS 3.3 V6 4dr Auto 4-spd, cd player, infinity speakers, neons, custom clear corners, alarm/remotestart/keylessentry, fog lights, custom intake, cut-off clogged cat, + you know that baby had the hyperwhite headlight and corners when they came out.

I still miss that car because as light as it was it could have been a bada$$ car.

If you go to Chicago, you will see kids in EVO's, G35's, TL's, BMW's etc, etc. Here kids drive cars with hoods and fenders falling off their cars.

i graduated in 04 and in my school we had about 20 lexuses, some landrovers a sh*tload of mazda 6's and the rest were beaters. i fit in the last category, but i think mine was the best of the beaters
we called it "GhetTopaz"- a 92 mercury topaz with some nice tint and the best system in the parking lot. i had a custom cai and some free exhaust work done in auto. so this thing used all of its 90 horses. then i found a maxima and sold it. here's a pic

Hmmm...guess I may not have been blessed with parents who had the money to push my way in HS. I was lucky to have any car. My car was a cherry '72 Pinto Wagon, $sh_t brown. What a beauty! I guess I could have afforded something more respectable had I not been an athlete in HS. Playing ball wouldn't enable me to work and save for a car, so my aunt was nice enough to give me this when she got her new car. Of course, I'm talking 1982 when I was a senior, so times have certainly changed. Props to the young guys here with nice cars who have worked for them. I only get concerned with the Silver Spooners whose Mommy and Daddy buy whatever Junior wants.

Great topic. I was driving my mom's 1991 Plymouth Acclaim V-6!!! That thing had pick-up for what it was. I even manually shifted the auto to 3rd to get better pickup to 100...yeah eventually it got to the trans! But for 77,000 miles, that was the only thing that went wrong! I got my first car a year into college, a 1993 SHO auto and loved it, but replaced it with my 99 5-speed Max and that is the best car I have owned so far.

1985 Dodge lancer ES
2.2 ltr turbo
5 speed
Paid $1850 for it. Drove it for 7 years. Sold it for $1500 with 216k.
Best car I've ever owned but my Maxima is holding its own.

94 thunderbird LX V8 (every option)...
combination of slick tires, a sharp turn, rain, and a ditch = that picture....

paid 3300 for it with 82000 miles on it back in 2002, crashed it january 2003.. then drove a junky saturn (which I still use as my daily driver for work) until purchasing my maxima in April 2003

Graduated in 02 with an 89 Prelude. Fun car but it was too small and was an auto.

Then I got a 95 Jetta. Biggest POS I have ever owned.

Then I got a 99 Altima. Good reliable car.

I always wanted a Maxima even before the Prelude and got sick of auto real quick, so I got this:

I graduated in '96. The car I drove around most of my senior year was a '73 Chevy nova 2dr. Originally had a straight six but took that out and put in a built 327. The car was a bucket and for the last part of my senior year I had got a '69 Nova SS. Green with a black top. Originally a 396 car but bought with no motor/tranny. Took the 327/350 and put it in that car. Nastiest car in the parking lot, easily. It had a 12 bolt with 4:56 gears.
Ahh memories .

I'm graduating this year aswell, I've had this car for a little over a year now, never plan on selling it. Paying it off on my own, didnt need any help on the down payment either.

I've had a lot of fun with this car, a lot of money too.

EDIT: Ooooh my 2000th post.

Belarus is not Russia or Russian. It's been over 13 years since the USSR dissolved, and yet we still know little about any part of the world but our own. It's no wonder China is on track to be the #1 super power and our SS system will be losing money in 2017 and bankrupt in 2041. Sheesh!!!

My car in high school was a '87 Olds Toronado in Midnight Blue. PITA & expensive to fix, considering the whole car was computerized, esp. the dash

i built my own car in high school. i had a 1994 Ford Ranger pick-up for everyday use, but i built this 1979 Olds Cutlass. i did all the custom body work, engine work, interior, and air ride in my garage when i was 16-17. fun car, just outgrew the style. it was fun to take it from mega junker to a pretty nice car. man that was a long time ago! i still have it though!

I have no idea where any pictures would be, I know I have them somewhere. I bought a 80 RX-7 with a 82 rotary in it, from my boss's son. He got it stolen, sold it to me for $500, was missing a rim, and the rear axle housing was bent.
However, it was an awesome car in 89 for a 16-year old. Put a header on it, aftermarket cherry bomb muffler (made it sound like a lawn mower), and would run the tires down to where you could see sparks when I burnt rubber. The a/c was broken and in florida that sucked, plus those rotary's run hot, your right leg was in a constant oven. I replaced the rims with 84 Rx rims, and replaced the rear end myself. I learned how to work on cars with that thing.
I crashed it in 92, my brother wrecked it in 94, I put the motor in another RX with no engine, drove that until I was 25. Started to want a max in 93, sick of having no back seat and no trunk. Decided to get my 97se 5spd in 99, unless the racing I do kills it, I will keep it quite a while. Honestly for some auto-x runs, I like the fwd max better, it won't unexpectedly spin you out. The RX would be more fun for the more curvy tracks, because then I could pass all the Miata's on the straights and leave them in the dust further in the infield turns, unlike now where I murder all the Miata's in the straights and they catch up in the middle of the infield. But I haven't run Watkins yet, I'll see how the max does there this year.
