anybody know the life time of LEDs, neons, glow crap etc in general?

anybody know the life time of LEDs, neons, glow crap etc in general?

just curious...cuz my neons are gettin a lot dimmer after 1 year... even my computer LED fans get dimmer after couple months. i don't like that.

I don't know about them dimming, but they should last a lot longer than regular bulbs. LED (Light Emitting Diode) don't have an element like conventional bulbs. They should just keep going for a long time.

As far as I know, LED's are guaranteed not to burn out for at least 5 years, take them back if they do...not sure about neons though

Most LEDs (according to the papers ) are supposed to last for something like 100,000 hours. If you overdrive them, meaning push more than the rated current, they WILL become dim very quickly. So, just use them at the rated specifications and they will last forever.... almost!

That is my understanding as well. Not sure about Neons either. They should last quite a long time, because of the Neon Gas rather than conventional bulbs.

maybe i should pick up an optima... but just for rice lights on stock bose is definely not worth it, and kinda ghetto too








maybe after all i'm not a true ricer

i have had the same neons in the maxima's for 2 years and they ahve not faded or anythng.

I believe the red and blue LEDS i bought said 100, 000 hours.
