silverstar thread.. ..

can someone with search ability link me to the old sivlerstar headlight thread..

i remember it said something about another bulb that is as white as silverstar..for cheaper.. it doesnt show up blue..i think it was a philips bulb..

by the way.. my silverstars blew out today.. only took like 8 months..nice color.. decent light output..crappy life expectancy.

im looking for a bulb that is a silverstar color. just nice white.. not blue at all.. if anyone knows of one.let me know.thanks

I formally had Phillips BlueVisions, not blue, not really white. Just a hint whiter than stock. Now running Silverstars.

Nothing is as good as HIDs, so ill stick with these till they blow...

I've used both in 9004 and have actually found the difference to be negligible, but with the price of the Cool Blues being about 1/4 that of the Silverstars, the Cool Blue would be a MUCH better value.

what are the wattages for these 3 bulbs (silverstar / bluevision/ nokya) same as stock or what? of course i'm asking WILL THEY MELT THE HARNESS? (the eternal fake-hid lighting question)

I have PIAA Extreme "White" and they suck, they look like stock for the low beams.

the sivlerstar, blue, and nokya are same as stock.. 45/65.

piaa makes overwattage bulbs that require an upgraded harness.. i thnk u can get an ebay one for like 30 bucks..

i just want my headlights to be white.. clean white..with very little or no blue.. i dont care that much about output casue my over wattage fogs put plenty of light on the road..and the yellow in the fog reduces all glare.. and ic an great in the rain.. just want the nice white headlamps for looks..

What over wattage fog light bulbs are you running in yellow? Did you have to upgrade the foglight harness?

what you need to know:

Silverstars:
1. they cost close to $50 a pair, depending on where you live.
2. the longest i had them last was 8 months.
3. they suck in the rain.
4. They start out being really white, but fade over time.
5. The "brightness" is only comparable when looking at them from outside of the car. from the inside, there is no difference.

Bluevision:
1. I bought my set for $14.99 at K-mart.
2. Last longer than silverstars.
3. Rain, snow, and everything in between: still no problem.
4. only had them in for a couple of months, but still nice and bright.
5. They look just as bright as stock from the outside, so soccer moms won't flash you every time you pass them.

Maybe if sylvania had put as much money in engineering the silverstars as they put into marketing them, they'd be worth the money.

Ok guys, I got a question. I ordered what I thought were 55W H4 Silverstars for my 1-piece Cefiro headlights. Turns out I ordered the entirely wrong bulb, and am in the process of trying to find the correct size bulb to fit in the Cefiro lights. Looks like the BlueVisions are better overall, does anybody know what bulb to use for my Cefiro lights?

EDIT: Where did you guys get your BlueVisions bulbs?

someone said wal mart for the blue visions..??
that sucks about the cefiro man.. hope u find the right bulb..

yellow fogs..reduce glare, increase rain and fog visibility, fogs were originally meant to be yellow, looks better than blue/purple tinted IMO. actaully puts out a decent amount of light for the wattage. (blue tinted bulbs only light through, which is a small portion of the light spectrum..= less light on the road)

we're talking about 2 completely different groups of people here.

If you want form: Get sylvania silverstars, and the brightest fogs you possibly can.
If you want function: Bluevisions and yellow fogs. I'd like to have the fogs, hell the whole headlight setup off of an is300.
