Totaled my car Thursday night.

I was driving home thursday night (3/4/04) when I lost control of my max and hit an enbankment, the car rolled a couple of times. I was not wearing a seatbelt but luckly just walked out of the car (passenger side, my door would not open) with a bruise. The sh!tty part is that it was 2 days before my 21st birthday, but I went out last night and bought another '97, this time in white, with SE trim and 5spd.

damn man you're lucky. you almost didn't see your 21st! why weren't you wearing your seatbelt?!?!? glad you weren't hurt, but come on...

reminds me of a video/news clip i saw yesterday or some local kids racing and flipping the cars and one cut it half!

congrats on the new max, drive carefully with it!

Dude, you were lucky. Wear that seatbelt, man!

Didn't I just see your max that you wrecked on ebay like yesterday?

You need to take all the stuff off of that one and put on your new one. Get those clear corners, and anything else you can before they junk it. It is your car, and then you can either use the stuff, or sell it if it is good shape. Good luck.

sorry for the accident man. Its great that you can go out and buy another one tho =o)

you should sell the remaining parts (interior and all) for some extra cash.

I wouldn't mind taking the passenger side clear corner =o)

Daaaamn you got lucky like I did, but I was wearing my seatbelt. Hopefully this will make you wear it from now on, accidents do that sometime. Becareful around those corners, they are unexpecting sometimes...

Bro, wear those seatbelts not for yourself but for your FAMILY and FRIENDS!
Live is really short and its not worth risking. I lost my little brother on Feb 20th 2004, and you won't believe how much it hurts to lose someone so close! please wear your seatbelts!!

Sorry but I went to see if my car was still at the shop, but they already got rid of it. Otherwise I would have taken the headlights, clear corners, and taillights, oh yeah and one of the fog bulbs one of the ones on the car I bought is burned out.

Wow, sorry to hear that, i don't know what I would do if I lost a close relative. I definitely am more conscious about wearing my seatbelt.

Sorry about SupermaxGxe car, and for Noslen bro. I always buckle up, and always will. It didn't save my life in the accidents I've had, but I was alot safer with my seatbelt, well expect for my F'ing airbags.

Glad you okay man. Good to see that those heavy @ss bars that Nissan put in the doors saved your life. Do I smell a parts car? Bust out the VQ and build the **** out of it. Seriously, i'll buy the Air Intake Temp Sensor and Driver's Courtesy light cover off you for $20+shipping. Whoops just read your last post.

Sorry about your accident and I'm glad your OK.

Now for the hard stuff.

1) Always wear your seatbelt! Only fools drive without it. Consider yourself very lucky. You could have been thrown out and killed if the car rolled over you.

2) You were obvioulsy driving to fast to control your vehicle. The first thing your taught in driving school is to always be in control of your car. Slow down, don't push the car past it's limits. The limits of the roadway your on are posted on whats called a speed limit sign. Read and understand what it's numbers mean.

Think of the damage you could have done had you hit somebody else or for that matter got seriously hurt or killed. Would that be worth it?

Please take this post as constructive and better yourself from your experiance. Don't ever lose control of your vehicle, thats how you win the race.

Actually, I went again and saw the car. They let me swap the switches with the blue LED's, and my clear corners. I may still be able to buy the car, but I don't know if it's worth it. Oh, and by the way I'm already working on another VQ engine.

Yea with my accident I wasnt going super fast, its just the angle of the curve was unexpecting, it went sideways and down to the right (opposite of what you want when your taking a turn), so I was going maybe 5-10mph faster than I should habe gone, but thats all it takes. Now I take corners slower than necessary, it may **** people off, but with a leaking right rear strut on my max, corners feel unstable. And that feeling you get from the accident always haunt you, that helps keeping me a safer driver. Always be careful around those corners, no matter how it appears.

One more thing,

the coroner, explained to me, in an accident without your seatbelt, there is a good chance your chest will slam into the steering wheel and puncture a vein and then leak blood into the sack surrounding the heart. That sack creates space for the heart to expand and when that sack is filled with blood it doesn't give room for the heart to pump. therefore causing death.

He told me these types of death happens often. Seatbelt doesn't guarantee anything, but it helps.

I'm STILL in GREAT SHOCK that i lost my brother! And he just turned 18. But "not even death can separate brothers"

and REMEMBER ---> "Think twice before you do things, life can end in a split second."

I don't want any of you to go through this, so THINK HARD BEFORE YOU DO THINGS!

Glad to see you got out of the car okay. Enjoy your new Max, drive carefully. As many people said already, always wear your seatbelt. . . I know that in my case, without the seatbelt on I can't stay in my seat when I take a sharp turn with the crappy seats in our cars. Not to mention I can't stand that red seatbelt light on my dash.
