97 Maxima Cold Start problem
97 Maxima Cold Start problem
When I put the ignition switch on "start" position, the engine is turned over. The RPM could reach to 1,000+ and then go down quickly to ZERO again. Now I found one temporary solution. If I depress the gas pedal a little bit and keep the RPM above 1,000 for a while, (maybe 2 to 5 seconds). then it's fine. When the car drives for a short distance, even 2 miles and turn off the engine and restart, it work properly. Today I made another test. Once it started with the help of depressing the gas pedal, I turned off the engine after 5 seconds. Then try to restart it, it still not work. .
The battery, starter and spark plugs were replaced in the past month. I checked with dealer, they said I need to use Nissan original spark plugs(NGK). The spark plug I used is the Denso Platinum.
Anybody has the experience, please give me some suggestion. I appreciate your help.

Took it to the autoshop for a 90k full maintanence service . THey replacedall the filter, plugs etc. Checked all the sensors, coils. Ran fulll diagnostics. No codes. Cleaned TB. Nothing came out. In fact the hesitation has increased. Can anybody suggest what else could be done
to fix this? This is driving me nuts.

My car used to do it and it only died ocasionally, starter was binding when it was cold. I still get around to fixing it but it stopped doing it ever since it got warm over here, but I still need to put some grease in there.
Well it turned out to be faulty air flow meter(part cost is $488) for
stalling problem. Apart from stalling I also have hesitation problem
after accelerating from a complete stop. Will replacing air flow meter
fix hesitation also? THe service tech thinks this might fix hesitation also
apart from stalling.
