Radar detectors

How many of you using one? Are they useful? Are they legal? Any good ones? I'm thinking of getting one, but wanted to see if I even need one and that they 'do' their job.

in most states they are legal, but a cop might get ****ed off if he pulls you over and he sees it.

mine works awsome on the highway, but on city roads or somethign it is not worth a damn. if you do alot of highway driving i would get one.

i use a whistler radar detector i got off ebay for like $20. i just bought it to have. and then one night i was driving really fast and it was beeping like crazy so i slowed down and sure enough about a 1/4 up there was a cop with his radar. ive never regret spending that $20!! it goes off a lot when there is no radar, but when there is radar, the thing beeps like crazy.

lol, sounds like a good radar detector to me. The reason why radars go off and start beeping like crazy in cities is, if i remember right, of those sensor doors in the malls.
